i was overjoyed when a friend lent me his copy of the latest Command and Conquer game so i put the disk in the drive, installed it (which took a damn long time) and hastily clicked the nice new shiny icon on my desktop. i get a BSOD, i brush this off as something unrelated which it obviously isnt and boot into XP MCE which i installed for my recent escapades with porting media center to server 2003 i install the game on this new partition, run the game and another BSOD.

i frantically google the troubles and soon find out from a number of gaming sites that its a problem with my crappy onboard GPU. the Radeon xPress 200 it seems cannot control its memory too well and spirals out of control causing a BSOD so to play this game i now need to go out and buy a new graphics card
